Racers need to protect themselves from high temperatures to perform at their best, and the Sparco RW 10 Shield Tech Nomex Pants WHITE is an indispensable part of their racing gear.
The pants are specially designed with a seamless construction and are very lightweight for maximum comfort under a racing overalls. It features X-Cool technology with key benefits.
Microcapsules in the fabric contain an active ingredient that is released when a certain temperature is reached. This active ingredient, menthol, helps lower the rider's body temperature.
The technology works slowly and remains effective even after multiple washings. In addition, the pants are antibacterial.
Nomex pants are essential as a fire-resistant layer and protect racers from high temperatures. They come in different price ranges, depending on the quality, durability and ventilation of the pants, and in different sizes.
Racing equipment such as racing overalls, balaclava, shoes and gloves must meet FIA 8856-2018 standards. A list of approved racing gear is available upon request from RACB Sport or through the official FIA website.
Underwear must also comply with FIA Standard 8856-2018 and be fire-resistant to protect drivers from injury in the event of an accident.
