Sparco LAND - homologated glove - Red is a model frequently used during track days, rallies, ...

Why is it important to wear a glove during trackdays or races?

While driving on circuits, the speed goes up and with it often your heart rate, and in the process your transparency increases more than in traffic jams. Some people therefore, due to the tension, suffer more from sweaty hands than normal. You can solve this by driving with a suede/leather steering wheel, but you can also buy special gloves.

These come in a normal version, mostly used in classics, and a race version. The race version has a more direct contact and is also available in fire-retardant version, which may be mandatory during racing.

Be sure to try on the gloves at your leisure. They should fit like a glove, even if you ball your fist. If necessary, practice on a quiet road before hitting the track with gloves for the first time. Your steering feel will be completely different from what you are used to during the first few minutes.

During drift days, gloves are sometimes inconvenient, which is why many drifters prefer to drive bare-handed, but with good suede/leather steering wheels.
