Alpinestars sports socks
Alpinestars sports socks give a firm compression on the arch of the foot and around the heel/ instep line. This extra compression is important to maintain the natural curvature of the sole of the foot and to relieve pressure on the tendon plate. Less swollen feet due to the use of very good quality fabric which allows the foot to ventilate better.
Available in various sizes.
Composition: 67% Polyester + 21% Polyamide + 9% Elastic + 3% Nostatex (= more breathable effect)
What is the function of a sock?
Socks are multifunctional garments. Despite their many advantages, they are generally undervalued, several people see them as a kind of subordinate item that is worn only for its functionality. But what is such a sock functional for?
First, socks keep your feet warm. It's common knowledge that a large part of your body heat is lost through your feet, and in the winter you often get cold feet, so some foot covering is desirable. At such a moment, the sock comes around the corner. Socks hold the heat with their fabric and make sure you don't sit on the couch with your teeth chattering.
Socks also protect the skin of your feet against friction from the inside of your shoe. Everyone knows the nasty, annoying feeling a blister has on your heel, ankle or toe. Blisters are very painful and it can take a long time until they are finally gone. Until that time, you are constantly bothered when something comes against them. Socks prevent much of the friction a blister causes and make your skin less irritated.
Socks are also particularly functional when absorbing moisture. When the weather is warm and your feet sweat, your sock absorbs this moisture. Otherwise, it just sits in your shoe and after a while it lumps up with every step you take...
