Description

HANS 20° Pro CARBON

HANS 20° Pro CARBON is the Schroth XLT Frontal Head Restraint (FHR) HANS-device. This extra-lightweight carbon fiber FHR is one of the lightest HANS-devices available on the market, weighing only 460 grams. Newly designed and featuring Schroth's Vision Advantage Plus sliding straps for better visibility during use, while patented SlipStop Plus contact surfaces on the shoulder area prevent the seat belts from slipping off the harness, with added support for the restraint wings.

Approved according to FIA 8858-2010 homologation.

The Schroth XLT FHR device is available as 20° or 30°, in Medium or Large sizes.

20 Degree is primarily for sedan, rally and sports cars
30 Degree is primarily for most Formula and Single Seater type cars, including some Radicals.

Medium size for 15 to 18.5 inch collar (38-47 cm).
Large size for 18″+ collar (46 cm+).

Select the desired size and angle from the drop-down menus above before placing the item in your shopping cart.

Be careful when purchasing a HANS system The HANSsystems are available in different 'angles'. These 'angles' (10, 20 or 30 degrees) are determined by the angle at which the back is in relation to the head when sitting in the car. After all, in a formula car the driver is more comfortable and so a 3HANS0◦ system is much better suited than a 2HANS0◦ system that is better for touring cars.

HANSSystems are also available in three different sizes; these are widths (S, M, L). Very important is the latest homologation date of the system you buy.

Why wear a neck system?

Almost all deaths in racing accidents are due to head and neck injuries. In a crash, a pilot's body is held securely in place by his shoulder and pelvic belts. The head is protected from external impulses by the helmet. The weak link is that the head and neck can still move unrestrictedly in all directions. A frontal impact, the head flying forward at high speed. In a full speed accident, the pressure on the back of the head is comparable to the weight of the car! At the end of this forward movement, there is a high risk of neck or skull base fracture. Given the enormous braking force of sports cars, an airbag is not a reliable option. That's why they started looking for a system that is attached to the helmet, and yet allows the driver not to experience any significant inconvenience during the race. The HANS system is a kind of 'harness' that rests on the shoulders and is held in place by the shoulder belts. It is attached to the helmet via two straps. It is precisely these straps that stop the helmet (and therefore the head) at the critical moment in the event of a crash. Sensitive shoulders? Using Exgel's gel pads together with the harness can solve this problem or discomfort, click here for more information.
